The innovative product from Strand Technologies Ltd was announced the winner of the Product Design and Innovation Electronic Award, at the AI Specification Awards on Thursday 5th May 2022.
Their product, 'Virtual Engineer' is a technology solution for the control and diagnostics of automatic doors, gates, barriers, winning the award sponsored by ADSA.Virtual engineer was selected from a shortlist featuring products from ASSA ABLOY, Codelocks and Salto Systems.
Interestingly, it uses a device attached to entrances and 'talks' to a cloud software platform for on-site or remote management, sending alerts to flag up problems and even identify any posisble causes, potentially saving time and money for engineer call outs.

Said ADSA's Managing Director Ken Price.
Ken presented the award to Strand Technologies' directors Simon Bowden and Paul Ryan. This is certainly a landmark moment for a company which was founded only last year.
The AI Specification Awards 2022 was organised by The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI), in conjunction with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
